[Satellite TODAY 08-23-11] TeleCommunication Systems (TCS) was awarded a $5 million blanket purchase agreement to provide consulting, information technology and support services to the U.S. Army through January 2013, TCS announced Aug. 22.
TCS said the agreement allows the company to bid on task orders for IT service management, network services, data center management, distributed computing and application management through a performance-based service management and delivery framework.
The agreement expands TCS’ existing contract agreement with the U.S. Army, under which it has been providing communications systems and services for the past five years. “The fact that TCS was chosen for this contract is an endorsement of our competency and expertise in the provision of highly reliable IT services. These types of enterprise IT services are what we’ve been providing within the defense community for over two decades,” TCS Government Solutions Vice President and General Manager Michael Bristol said in a statement.
