[Satellite TODAY 07-18-11] Satellite-based managed network solutions provider Globecomm Systems has won $2.4 million contract from an unnamed multi-national organization for transportable satellite ground terminals as an amendment of a previous contract where the company was awarded approximately $29.5 million in system design and development awards.
The company announced July 15 that the amendment makes changes to the technical solution for the vehicles supplied under the previous contract and brings the combined contract value to approximately $31.9 million.
“Globecomm has recognized $5.8 million in revenue under the contract, which continues to demonstrate our sustained ability to provide high quality communication services. With a focus on emerging technology, the company strives to offer a comprehensive suite of system integration, system products, and network services enabling a complete end-to-end solution for our customers,” Globecomm Vice President Paul Knudsen said in a statement.
The contract follows Globecomm’s authorization under the GSA FCSA Schedule-70 contract program to allow all agencies of the U.S. government to access the company’s services.
