The U.S. Air Force Space Command has named Apogee Engineering a prime contractor to provide engineering and communications support services for the U.S. GPS operations center in Colorado Springs, Colo., the Air Force announced July 5.
A.I. Solutions was also named a subcontractor to monitor and collect GPS satellite precise positioning service and standard positioning service telemetry data, as well as conduct analysis of GPS anomalies and provide technical support to GPS users.
The overall value of the contract is $7.4 million.
“The Global Positioning System is vital to our nation’s defense and to the everyday commercial and personal activities of U.S. citizens. Our engineering team is excited to be playing an important role in supporting this satellite network,” A.I. Solutions President and CEO Bob Sperling said in a statement.
