[Satellite TODAY 01-05-11] Integral Systems has been awarded a $10 million, five-year, indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity contract to modernize satellite communications network for the U.S. Coast Guard’s large cutters, the company announced Jan. 4.

Integral Systems’ Satcom Solutions division will act as prime contractor on the program, transitioning the Coast Guard from its legacy satcom network to a commercial-based Ku-band system.

The 117MT Ku-band Maritime antenna system includes an electromagnetic compatible and electromagnetic interference management system. The 117MT fully supports primary off-the-cutter connection to the Coast Guard One network and provides single channel per carrier or on‐demand networks supporting video teleconferencing, virtual private networks, Voice over IP and large file data transfers.
