[Satellite TODAY 11-30-10] Integral Systems’ Satcom Solutions Division was awarded a $5 million, five-year contract to replace asynchronous transfer mode (ATM) multiplexers that are no longer sustainable at the U.S. military’s largest test ranges, Integral announced Nov. 29.
Integral Systems will install about 100 IoPlex Access Gateways at the U.S. Air Force 412th Test Wing’s test range located at Edwards Air Force Base, Calif. The commercial off-the-shelf product features an open architecture that will integrate into the test ranges’ existing ATM networks. The gateway supports both IP and MPLS networks to allow the U.S. military to continue its migration to everything-over-IP.
The contract was awarded as part of the Air Force Flight Test Center’s Range Data Acquisition Transport System program. Additional contract phases will replace ATM multiplexers at Vandenberg, Point Mugu Air Station and China Lake Naval Weapons Testing Center.
