[Satellite TODAY 11-22-10] Com Dev USA was awarded a $6 million contract to provide UHF passive microwave equipment for a U.S. government satellite payload, the company announced Nov. 19.
Design and production work will be performed at Com Dev USA’s manufacturing facility in El Segundo, Calif., with delivery scheduled for mid-2012. The UHF frequency band will be used for military satellite communications to small, mobile terminals operated by ground, sea and air forces.
“Demand for Com Dev USA’s legacy products remains strong as we see a continuation of existing secure communications programs in lieu of new program starts. The demand for UHF communications capacity to support U.S. and international war fighters remains strong. This is the fourth contract for this type of subsystem won in the last year, confirming our leadership position in high power UHF technology,” Com Dev President Dan White said in a statement.
