[Satellite TODAY 10-02-10] MDA’s U.S. operation MDA Information Systems, received a contract to provide an advanced information solution to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ Army Geospatial Center (AGC), MDA announced Oct. 1.
     The solution will work to provide a demonstration system to display the capability of receiving MDA’s Radarsat-2 and DigitalGlobe’s WorldView-2 data using a very small, tactically deployable, mobile ground station.
     According to MDA, the AGC may procure multiple units for international deployment upon the successful demonstration of the information solution. “This contract marks a key step in establishing a new U.S. mobile ground terminal presence by providing the U.S. Army a rapidly deployable turnkey system,” MDA Information Systems President Herb Satterlee said in a statement.
    Financial details of the contract were not disclosed.
