[Satellite TODAY 09-01-10] Harris Corp. has received a $9.5 million contract from Elbit Systems to provide engineering services to support the Australian Department of Defense’s (ADF) Land 200 communications modernization program, the company announced Aug. 31.
    The three-year contract will see Harris provide engineering services to integrate its Falcon tactical satellite radio systems into the Battle Management System being developed by Elbit. The ADF will acquire a range of Harris tactical radio systems in support of this and other programs, including Harris Falcon 3 AN/PRC-152 multiband handheld radios, Falcon 3 AN/PRC-117G wideband, AN/PRC-117F multiband and AN/PRC-150 high-frequency manpack radios.
    “Harris will apply its broad expertise in tactical communication systems to insure seamless exchanges of voice and data between our Falcon radios and the ADF’s new battle management hub," Harris RF Communications President of International Business Andy Start said in a statement.
