[Satellite TODAY 08-05-10] Orbit Technologies has won a $19 million systems contract with an unnamed military customer, the company announced Aug. 4.
    The contract will see Orbit supply the customer with Ku-band, Orsat-G and C-band broadband satellite communication systems for naval military use. The order also includes a long-term multi-year service contract.
    “With this award, we anticipate a substantial growth in our revenues over the next two years. I am confident in our ability to leverage this contract to receive additional orders from customers around the globe,” Orbit CEO Avi Cohen said in a statement
    Orbit has focused on extending its maritime and military business reach for the past two years. In 2009, the French Navy selected Orbit for a $4 million contract to supply Ku-band and C-band marine satellite communication systems.
