[Satellite TODAY 06-15-10] ITT Corp. has completed a Critical Design Review (CDR) for a mission data unit (MDU) the company is developing for the U.S. Air Force’s Global Positioning System 3 (GPS 3) program, the company announced June 14. 
    The MDU CDR was conducted at ITT’s facilities in Bloomfield, N.J. in May. The CDR demonstrated that the MDU design meets program requirements and is ready to proceed to the manufacturing phase of the program.
    “ITT is meeting every milestone to deliver this critical GPS component. We are fully prepared and ready to meet the next critical program milestone, the Navigation Panel Element CDR scheduled for June,” Mark Pisani, ITT’s vice president and general manager of positioning, navigation and timing systems said in a statement.
    ITT is part of a team led by Lockheed Martin that was selected by the Air Force in May 2008 to build the next-generation GPS 3 program.
