[Satellite TODAY 05-10-10] TeleCommunication Systems (TCS) has been awarded a $1.8 million contract extension with the U.S. Department of Defense to continue providing managed bandwidth services for fixed satellite terminal sites supporting U.S. government personnel in forward operating areas in Southwest Asia and Iraq, TCS announced May 7.
    TCS will continue to provide its voice, video and data network services in remote areas that lack terrestrial communication services.
    TCS’ military services include end-to-end management for converged IP-based voice, video and data satcom, secure connectivity between fixed sites and remote operations, and the provision of SwiftLink deployable communications products.
