[Satellite TODAY 04-12-10] TeleCommunication Systems (TCS) has received an additional $7.1 million in funding from the U.S. Army for the maintenance of its Secret and Non-secure Internet Protocol Router SNAP VSAT systems deployed to warfighters stationed outside the United States, TCS announced April 9.
The award is an add-on to the $246 million, 39-month order contract that TCS received from the Army in August 2008. This increment of SNAP funding aims to support the maintenance of TCS’ SwiftLink deployable communications products.
The U.S. Army is funding these procurements through its $5 billion satellite systems contract vehicle, which includes options for approximately 1,500 terminals and supporting equipment for delivery by the third quarter of 2011.
