[Satellite TODAY 04-07-10] Raytheon Co. has been awarded a NASA contract to maintain and manage sensing data and imagery on the Earth Observing System Data and Information System (EOSDIS)
    The evolution and development program, an indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity cost plus award fee contract, will have a $250 million ceiling for a five-year base period of performance and an initial value of $75 million. Raytheon developed the core components of EOSDIS in 1999. In 2003, Raytheon won the core system maintenance and development contract.
    The EOSDIS evolution and development contract aims to give climate researchers access to valuable data about the earth’s atmospheres, oceans, lands and their interactions.
