Alliant Techsystems (ATK) appointed Mark DeYoung President and CEO, effective immediately, the company announced Feb. 4
DeYoung also was elected to serve on the company’s board and will replace former CEO Dan Murphy, who announced his resignation in November due to family matters. DeYoung previously led ATK’s Armament Systems group as president of the company’s largest business entity.
Separately, ATK said third quarter sales rose 3 percent to $1.1 billion, driven by the Armament Systems and Mission Systems groups, which partially was offset by lower Space Systems group sales.
Net income in the third quarter was up 28 percent to $78 million. Orders in the quarter were in line with expectations at $752 million.
