[Satellite Today 05-18-09] GMV opened commercial offices in Malaysia and the Korean Republic, marking the Spain-based company’s entrance into the Asia region, GMV announced May 15.
The company said the new offices will enable GMV to provide broader services to clients in Asia, forge even closer bonds with its technological partners and gain a better understanding of the markets on the continent. GMV said it plans to build a permanent commercial presence in the area.
The company has a history of activity in the area. In Malaysia, GMV set up FocusGEO flight dynamics software for geostationary satellites in the Measat control center in 2007. GMV said it has also been setting up a coastal DGPS network to give maritime navigation aid. In Korea, GMV and ETRI are participating in the research and development project “Technologies for Automation of Satellite Control,” a bilateral agreement between Spain and Korea.
