[Satellite Today 04-01-09] Raytheon Co. submitted its final proposal for the U.S. Air Force’s Global Broadcast Service (GBS) satellite broadcast manager and defense enterprise computing center transition contract, Raytheon announced March 31. 
    Raytheon, a GBS solution provider for past 11 years, leads a team that includes Harris Corp. as the video dissemination and broadcast leader, HP as the DECC capacity service provider and integrator, and ViaSat, the joint Internet protocol modem developer.
    "We have demonstrated the end-to-end GBS Defense Enterprise Computing Center (DECC) capability in our system integration laboratory, which offers the Air Force the best solution to take GBS to the next level as the government continues support to Iraq and efforts in Afghanistan," Lynn Dugle, president of Raytheon’s intelligence and information systems business, said in a statement.
