[Satellite Today 04-01-09] DataPath Inc. was awarded $35 million by the U.S. Army for Ka-band spares kits for its satellite transportable terminals, DataPath announced March 31.
The order is part of DataPath’s effort with the U.S. Army to enable deployed satellite communications terminals to operate in Ka-band over the Wideband Global Satcom (WGS) system, in addition to operating in commercial Ku-band.
The $35 million order is funded from exercised options on a four-year joint network node and warfighter information network-tactical program agreement with the U.S. Army that has a potential value of up to $225 million. DataPath has been awarded a total of approximately $147 million under this delivery order since January.
