The Boeing Co. [BA] and the Army will cooperate on processing sensor data for missile defense and space situational awareness, the company announced.

They launched a joint research-and-development effort to coordinate and fuse multiple types of sensor data in a secure environment for integrated air and missile defense and space situational awareness concept exploration.

The cooperative research and development agreement was signed last month and the two organizations met last week to exchange preliminary technical information at Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, Ala.
