Mikulski Continues To Chair NASA Oversight Subcommittee

Sen. Barbara A. Mikulski (D-Md.) will continue to chair the Senate Appropriations Committee commerce, justice, science and related agencies subcommittee for the next two years, full committee chairman Daniel K. Inouye (D-Hawaii) announced.

Other Democrats serving on the panel include Inouye and Sens. Patrick Leahy, Herb Kohl, Byron Dorgan, Dianne Feinstein, Jack Reed, Frank Lautenberg, Ben Nelson and Mark Pryor.

Republican senators on the NASA-oversight panel include Richard Shelby of Ala., the ranking Republican, who will serve along with GOP senators Mitch McConnell, Kay Bailey Hutchison, Sam Brownback, Lamar Alexander, George Voinovich and Lisa Murkowski.

Also announced were senators who will serve on the Senate Appropriations Committee defense subcommittee, also called SAC-D.

Inouye will chair the key subcommittee. Other Democratic senators on the panel for the next two years will include Robert Byrd, Leahy, Tom Harkin, Dorgan, Dick Durbin, Feinstein, Mikulski, Kohl and Patty Murray.

Republicans on the SAC-D include Thad Cochran of Mississippi, the ranking Republican, who will serve on the panel along with GOP Sens. Arlen Specter, Kit Bond, McConnell, Shelby, Judd Gregg, Hutchison and Bob Bennett.
