[Satellite Today 02-20-09] TeleCommunication Systems (TCS) received an additional $5.6 million of funding from the U.S. Army to provide additional system to support ongoing U.S. military operations, TCS announced Feb. 19.
    TCS will provide additional secure Internet protocol router and non-secure Internet protocol router access point VSAT systems as well as an assortment of data packages, forward-deployed spares and field service engineers. The systems will support operations in Iraq and Afghanistan as part of the U.S. Army communications-electronics life cycle management command order announced in August.
    The total order has a potential value of $246 million if all options are exercised.
