[Satellite Today 01-07-08] DataPath Inc. has been awarded a $100 million contract from the U.S. Army to manufacture and integrate Ka-band conversion kits for about 800 deployed DataPath Satellite Transportable Terminals and 18 unit hub satellite communications trucks, DataPath announced Jan. 6.
    DataPath also will provide spare kits and modem upgrades that will enable its STTs and other systems on the battlefield to operate using the Wideband Global Satcom system. The terminals being converted were designed and built by DataPath and deployed by the Army for the Joint Network Nod /Warfighter Information Network-Tactical program.
    With all options exercised over a base year and three option years, the agreement could total as much as $225 million.
