[Satellite Today 12-10-08] GeoEye has finalized a service level agreement modification to the company’s NextView contract with the U.S. National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA), GeoEye announced Dec. 10.
The value of the agreement is $12.5 million per month for a year.
Under the service agreement, GeoEye will provide satellite imagery products to the NGA beginning with the commencement of commercial operations of its GeoEye-1 satellite. GeoEye will also provide imagery from its Ikonos satellite.
GeoEye said the program is designed to ensure that the NGA has access to commercial imagery in support of its mission to provide timely, relevant and accurate geospatial intelligence in support of national security.
Although no specific date was given, GeoEye said its GeoEye-1 products are expected to be released soon.
