[Satellite Today 11-03-08] DigitalGlobe and Navteq have formed a partnership aimed at providing better support to software developers using Navteq map data who want to include high-resolution satellite and aerial imagery from DigitalGlobe in their applications, DigitalGlobe announced Nov. 3.
As part of the agreement, DigitalGlobe will provide developers access to sample imagery free of charge for a limited term during the software development process.
DigitalGlobe will also become part of Navteq’s Partner Zone and Network for Developers, which provides registered members with an assortment of data and tools, including whitepapers, user documentation, sample code, live and on-demand webinars, and a hosted discussion forum allowing developers to obtain a thorough understanding of how best to access DigitalGlobe’s extensive collection of current and historical sub-meter earth imagery.
Through limited-term access to DigitalGlobe’s library during the development process, developers will have the ability to incorporate imagery into their applications during the development and testing process before purchasing a license for use when a new commercial application is launched.
