[Satellite Today -8-06-08] TeleCommunication Systems Inc. received an order to provide deployable satellite solutions based on the company’s SwiftLink product line
to the U.S Army, the company announced Aug. 6.
    The award, a follow-on to the Military Transition Team VSAT program, was made under the World-Wide Satellite Systems (WWSS) contract vehicle and carries a potential value of $246 million over the next 39 months.
    The order includes options for more than 1,500 terminals and supporting equipment to be deployed in various sizes and configurations over the next few years, along with up to 30 field support personnel. Initial deliveries will be made in August, followed by 36 months of logistical support.
