[Satellite Today 07-18-08] Valley Forge Composite Technologies Inc. unveiled plans to develop a new small satellite platform, the company announced July 17.
    The new platform will target the market for satellites with a mass of up to 250 kilograms and will be constructed of carbon fiber. Valley Forge hopes the cost of the platform will cut costs for satellite manufacturers and universities that operate small satellite programs.
    Valley Forge products sensors, GPS systems, antennas and momentum/reaction wheels for the space market. “The revenues that should be generated from these buses will significantly impact revenues for Valley Forge,”
    Louis Brothers, president of Valley Forge, said in a statement.
