[Satellite Today – 3-25-08] Radyne Corp. business unit Xicom Technology received a $5.8 million order to provide tri-band and Ka-band power amplifiers to the U.S. Air Force, Radyne announced March 25.
The amplifiers will be procured for the Ground Multi-band Terminal (GMT) program. Each satellite communications system is contained in transit cases and is designed to operate in the U.S. Department of Defense/Defense Information Systems Agency X-band and Ka-band modes as well as with commercial C-band and Ku-band satellites.
"This order is another in our year-year participation in the Air Force’s GMT satellite communications program," Myron Wagner, Radyne’s CEO, said in a statement. "As the program continues to grow during 2008, we look forward to continuing revenues as a key supplier of both amplifiers and modems."
