[09-17-07 – Satellite Today]  RT Logic won a contract to demonstrate its high data rate receiver and test modulator for Honeywell Technology Solutions Inc., the company announced Sept. 17.

The Telemetrix 1200HDR receiver will be used for NASA‘s Tracking Delay Satellite System K-Band Upgrade Project. Honeywell is the prime contractor for the program.

NASA is replacing the current K-Band Single Access Return high rate equipment with modems that extend the data rates to up to 1.5 gigabits per second and implement high performance error correcting codes such as low density parity checking  and turbo product code.

A demonstration of the receiver technology is scheduled for January.
