[8-28-07 – Satellite News Today] Comtech Telecommunications Corp. received a $1.5 million order to supply satellite modems to an unnamed government agency, the company announced Aug. 28.
The Comtech EF Data CDM-600L and CDM-710 modems are designed to improve bandwidth efficiency and will support the satellite-based communications infrastructure of the agency. The CDM-600L features forward error correction, low density parity check, while the CDM-710 is standards-based, supporting the digital video broadcast S2 standard.
“This order confirms the government’s acceptance of Comtech’s bandwidth-efficient technologies," said Fred Kornberg, president and CEO of Comtech Telecommunications, said in a statement.
