[8/20/07 – Satellite Today] Swe-Dish Satellite Systems has won a satellite terminal deal with Paradigm Services, which is authorized to lead satellite communications procurements for military users within the U.K. Ministry of Defence, Swe-Dish announced Aug. 20.
Swe-Dish’s satellite communications systems offer users Ku- and X-band communications with two parallel autonomous sets of terminals. Swe-Dish will provide a number of IPT Suitcase, Fly-Away 150 Lite and X-band kits to Paradigm. The systems and end-user training will be delivered during summer 2007.
This is the second major deal that Swe-Dish has won in Europe. In June, the company received a contract to supply a complete satellite communications system to FMV – Defence Materiel Administration – the procurement authority of the Swedish Department of Defence. The system is specified as a backbone of the internal communications within the Nordic Battle Group forces, a unit that will be operational under European Union command as of January 2008.
Swe-Dish was acquired by U.S. satellite solutions provider DataPath in July.
