Harris Corp. received a contract from the U.S. Army Communications-Electronics Research, Development and Engineering Center (CERDEC) to develop an encryption device that could be used on satellite communication terminals, the company announced Dec. 14.

The initial contract value is about $5 million and could be worth up to $12 million, Harris said.
