LiveEO has raised 25 million euros ($27 million) in a Series B funding round led by NordicNinja and DeepTech & Climate Fonds (DTCF). The Berlin-based company said the investment will accelerate the development of its solutions that turn satellite data into actionable insights.
Investor NordicNinja is the largest Japanese-backed VC in Europe and it is focused on deeptech, climate tech, and digital society solutions, and DTCF is financed by the German Future Fund.
This new funding announced Tuesday takes LiveEO’s total funding to nearly 52 million euros ($56 million). The company was founded in 2018 and has grown to 130 employees.
The company’s platform uses high-resolution satellite data and proprietary AI algorithms to generate actionable insights for customers to help them respond to extreme weather events, deforestation, and environmental risks to infrastructure. The platform currently serves customers from Europe, U.S., Japan, and Australia, including European railway operator Deutsche Bahn.
“Our mission at LiveEO is to harness the power of satellite data to protect our planet and make industries more sustainable. The new funding will accelerate this mission and enable us to continue helping businesses worldwide face the growing list of climate, environmental, technological and regulatory risks,” commented Daniel Seidel, co-founder and co-CEO of LiveEO.
