Intelsat has hired Raytheon Technologies exec David J. Broadbent as its new president of Government Solutions. Intelsat announced the hire on Nov. 13, effective immediately. 

Broadbent is now responsible for Intelsat’s global government business. Government Solutions is the new name for Intelsat General, the company’s government business, an Intelsat spokesperson confirmed to Via Satellite.

Broadbent was most recently president of Raytheon Technologies’ Space Systems business unit. He was with Raytheon for 21 years in various senior business development, program execution, contracts, supply chain management and financial planning roles. 

“Dave Broadbent has spent his entire, successful career navigating complex U.S. and international government business environments, and he has a strong track record of delivering exceptional results at every level,” Intelsat CEO David Wajsgras said. “Dave is the right leader for our Government Solutions team at this juncture, with his demonstrated history of building highly effective teams and customer relationships, capturing new business and driving continuous improvement in execution and operations.”
