Kevin Steen, CEO of ST Engineering iDirect, is leaving the company to lead OneWeb Technologies. Steen succeeds former OneWeb Technologies CEO, Bob Roe, who previously announced his retirement.

OneWeb Technologies, formerly TrustComm, is a satellite service provider for the U.S. government. OneWeb acquired the company as a subsidiary last year. 

“Kevin stood out as a strong, dynamic leader with the relevant experience we believe will be necessary to execute on our bold plans for the company. The board is looking forward to working with Kevin to take the company forward,” commented OneWeb Technologies Chairwoman Sue Gordon.

Steen had served as CEO of ground segment tech company iDirect since 2017. He oversaw the company doubling its market share and revenue and introducing a ground segment platform to support a global network footprint. 

“The opportunities created by the deep customer relationships, world-class experience and innovation within [OneWeb Technologies], combined with the incredible potential of the OneWeb LEO constellation, are almost limitless,” Mr. Steen added “I look forward to helping OneWeb Technologies capitalize on the opportunity that exists in the marketplace given their technology leadership, superior capabilities, and passion for serving the defense community.”

ST Engineering iDirect confirmed to Via Satellite the company has appointed Ka Hoe Low as interim CEO while the company searches for Steen’s replacement. Low is president of ST Engineering Satcom GBA and he has worked closely with the iDirect leadership team. Steen will will remain with the company until September 30.
