SES expanded the leadership team for subsidiary SES Government Solutions (SES GS), hiring Ben Pigsley as senior vice president for Defense Networks and Jim Hooper, senior vice president for Space Initiatives.
Pigsley joins SES GS after 15 years at DRS GES, most recently as the vice president for Growth and Strategy. He has experience with Army, special operations, and tactical networks. He will be responsible with leading business development efforts including expanding SES GS satellite communications and networking capabilities.
Hooper has been with SES GS since 2010 and has led sales and business development programs for both U.S. and allied governments to include hosted payloads, complex solutions, new satellites and satellite constellations. In this new role, he will continue to develop and deploy solutions for new satellite programs, hosted payloads, and delivery of satellite communications services.
These appointments come after SES recently acquired DRS Global Enterprise Solutions, combining it with SES GS. David Fields, who led DRS GES, recently took the helm of the combined organization. SES said it continues to develop the SES GS leadership team.
“The organizational announcement of our Defense Networks and Space Initiatives focused leadership is an important building block in our journey and positions us to define a new era of SATCOM excellence as we expand our end-to-end services and capabilities to not only meet the needs and requirements of our customers of today and tomorrow but to exceed their expectations,” Fields said.
