Christopher Kubasik has taken the helm of L3Harris as CEO, succeeding William Brown. This leadership transition was planned and first announced with the merger of L3 Technologies and Harris Corp. in 2018.
Kubasik has been serving as vice chair, president and COO of the combined company. Pre-merger, he was chairman, president, and CEO of L3. He has more than 30 years of experience in the aerospace and defense industry and previously was an executive for Lockheed Martin.
He succeeds William Brown, former Harris’ chairman, president and CEO. When the merger was announced, Brown was announced as chairman and CEO of the combined company, with the eventual step down two years later. Brown will now serve as executive chair of the board.
“Today’s transition reflects the strength of the thoughtful and detailed merger strategy and foundation of trust built by Bill, Chris, and the board. Despite the challenges inherent in any merger, and a global pandemic, we have successfully created the leading defense technology company,” commented Bob Millard, lead independent director of the board.
