SpaceX’s Falcon 9 v1.1 rocket with the SES 8 satellite at Cape Canaveral, Fla.

After two scrubs last week and a further delay yesterday, SpaceX will make another attempt at launching SES’ SES 8 satellite today using its redesigned Falcon 9 v1.1 rocket. During the last launch attempt on Thursday, Nov. 28, the countdown was stopped at T-2 seconds after the Merlin 1D engines fired and automatically shutdown.

As stated by Elon Musk via Twitter, all the issues have been resolved for a third launch attempt today from Cape Canaveral Air Force Station in Florida. The launch window extends from 5:41 p.m. EST until 6:47 p.m. EST.

The SES 8 satellite will be co-located with the NSS 6 satellite to provide additional capacity to the Southeast Asia region.
