PANASONIC'S ORBCOMM COMMUNICATOR HAS GPS CAPABILITY
The Panasonic KX-G7001 subscriber communicator has GPS circuitry and antenna that is designed for the Orbcomm low-Earth orbit satellite system. The units, marketed in the U.S. by Panasonic Industrial Co., has data input and output devices. Another company, San Diego-based Torrey Science Corp., is manufacturing a communicator for Orbcomm. LITTON GETS GERMAN TORNADO AIRCRAFT CONTRACT
Litton Industries Inc. [LIT] won a $4 million contract to be the navigation component supplier for the German Tornado attack aircraft. DELORME AND AAA CREATE TRAVEL SOFTWARE
DeLorme Mapping and AAA recently created the AAA Map’n’Go software that has a data base of more than 57,000 accommodations, restaurants, campgrounds and points of interest. NOAA AWARDS VESSEL TRACKING CONTRACT
The U.S. National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS), a branch of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), awarded a contract to Germantown, Md.-based Lovingfoss & Associates for monitoring and maintenance of NMFS’ commercial fishing vessel tracking system.
