Verizon Communications will display its latest critical communications capabilities to public safety, government, and military agencies at the EDGE conference from Jan. 5 through 7. Satellite tech will play a key role in these solutions showcased by Verizon Frontline.
Verizon Frontline is the company’s advanced network and technology built for first responders, developed in partnership with public safety officials and agencies on the front lines.
Verizon Frontline will showcase a new unmanned aerial systems trailer; tactical awareness kit (TAK) capabilities. It will also showcase the rapid response connectivity Unit (RRCU), a portable, 5G, 4G LTE, and WiFi-enabled asset with satellite backhaul capabilities for data and voice services for up to 120 users.
“The Government Business Executive Forum is proud that Verizon, for the past 14 years, has provided the industry keynote at EDGE, always showcasing the latest in communications technology and capabilities, and how they improve government mission performance,” Donald Upson, chairman and founder of GBEF, said in a statement.
Verizon has been growing its work with the satellite industry in recent times. In May last year, AST SpaceMobile announced a $100 million deal with Verizon for satellite direct-to-cellular service for its customers, and the telco also has a deal with Skylo for direct-to-cellular services.
