SES signed three broadcast renewal deals with major partners in Europe in the past week with Austrian public broadcaster ORF, Warner Bros. Discovery in Germany and Austria, and with Telekom Srbija.
On Wednesday, SES announced a multi-year renewal with Austria’s largest media provider and public broadcaster ORF. The renewal secures capacity in SES’s prime TV neighborhood at 19.2 degrees East. The agreement covers the satellite transmission of ORF’s TV offerings as well as ORF’s portfolio of radio channels.
SES also secured a multi-year broadcast capacity renewal with Warner Bros. Discovery in another deal for capacity from the 19.2 degrees East neighborhood. SES will provide playout services and satellite capacity to deliver Warner Bros. Discovery’s SD and HD channels across Germany and Austria from the prime video neighborhood, SES announced Nov. 5.
The satellite operator also extended its contract with Telekom Srbija for another four years for satellite services from SES’s ASTRA 3C satellite at 23.5 degrees East. This renewal reinforces a successful collaboration that began in 2011 with a first capacity agreement and expanded in 2018 with the launch of Telekom Srbija’s DTH platform, M:Sat TV.
SES will continue providing multi-transponder capacity to enable Telekom Srbija to deliver an SD and HD pay-TV channel offering across Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro and North Macedonia as part of its M:Sat TV platform. The agreement also includes uplink and backup services for transponders and redundant fiber connectivity for the entire platform.
