[Via Satellite 07-06-2016] Dizengoff Ghana, a subsidiary of U.K.-based Balton CP, has selected Gilat to implement a turnkey solution for the delivery of satellite-enabled broadband and cellular services throughout rural Ghana. Gilat will deploy its SkyEdge 2-c hub, its Gemini VSATs to schools for broadband services, and its Capricorn VSATs to Mobile Network Operators (MNO). The company is providing
solar-powered CellEdge small cells in conjunction with the Capricorn VSATs for MNOs to extend cellular service across the country.
According to Gilat, Dizengoff Ghana will be able to meet the rural communications requirements of the Ghana Investment Fund for Electronic Communications (GIFEC) as set forth by Ghana’s government with its new network.
