[Via Satellite 04-06-2016] HSN, a live content retailer, has signed an agreement to renew and migrate its North American distribution platform to an SES satellite at the center of the company’s North American orbital arc. Today, HSN uses SES satellite capacity to broadcast live to approximately 95 million households across the U.S. The company will make the move to the SES 3 satellite this spring. HSN joins other media and entertainment companies including Scripps Networks Interactive and Viacom that use SES’ cable distribution neighborhood built on SES 1 at 101 degrees west, SES 3 at 103 degrees west, and AMC 18 at 105 degrees west serving the North American market.
The center of the arc cable distribution platform is at the core of SES’ fleet optimization over the region, enabling programmers to reach more than 100 million U.S. television homes through virtually every cable TV, Internet Protocol TV (IPTV) and Direct-to-Home (DTH) provider across North America.
