Earnings Before Interest, Taxes, Depreciation and Amortization (EBITDA) reached $199 million, which translates to a 10.6 percent increase compared to 2014. Of the net results, approximately $70 million ($19 million more than in 2014) are attributed to the Hispasat Group parent company.
Hispasat’s space capacity revenue also grew to $241 million; a 9.72 percent increase from the previous business year. The operator benefitted from the positive exchange rate, favored by the strong U.S. dollar, which offset the sharp depreciation of the Brazilian real.
Geographically, 34.6 percent of the Hispasat Group’s revenue from leasing space capacity comes from Europe and North Africa, while 65.4 percent stems from the Americas. Hispasat’s backlog of satellite capacity contracts reached a value equivalent to seven times the company’s annual revenue by the end of the business year.
