[Via Satellite 09-28-2015] Encompass Digital Media has appointed Joe Simon as its Chief Operating Officer (COO). In this role, Simon will oversee the company’s operations, products and technology.

Previously, Simon served as Chief Information Officer (CIO) at Viacom. He led worldwide technology, Web development and operations for all of the company’s divisions: MTV Networks, MTVN International, BET, and Paramount. As Chief Technology Officer (CTO) at Condé Nast, Simon drove the company’s digital transformation and reinvented their brands as digital experiences across all platforms. Most recently, he has been acting as the CTO of Univision Digital helping build the company’s Web, mobile and TV everywhere offerings.

“With his extensive television, digital operations, technology and product experience, he brings an in-depth, well-rounded understanding of the industry at large and an invaluable client perspective to the organization,” said Chris Walters, Encompass CEO.
