[Via Satellite 03-06-2015] Sky Perfect JSAT Corporation has established a new subsidiary to expand delivery of Japanese content to overseas audiences. Cool Japan Fund and Sky Perfect JSAT will invest in the new WakuWaku Japan Company.

WakuWaku Japan was formerly a business product from Sky Perfect JSAT started in February 2014. It operated in Indonesia and Myanmar delivering Japanese content 24 hours a day. In the past year, Sky Perfect JSAT confirmed strong overseas demand for Japanese content, which prompted the decision to promote further expansion of this business by creating a subsidiary.

The WakuWaku Japan Company will be established on May 1 with a planned start of business for July 1. SKY Perfect JSAT targets to expand this business in approximately 22 countries worldwide by fiscal 2020. WakuWaku Japan Company aims to promote the appeal of Japan to these countries, and also expects to increase further demand for Japanese merchandise and to contribute to an increase in tourists to Japan through this business.
