[Via Satellite 11-20-2014] Airbus Defence and Space has created a new satellite solution for transmitting data from remote border security sensor sites to central operational centers. Using the same link, the sensors can also be operated using control and analysis software.

The Airbus Defence and Space solution can connect sites that were previously unreached by terrestrial communications such as copper cables, fiber optic links and microwave. The solution can also be used to complement terrestrial communications with satellite, provide short-term interim availability and to deliver connectivity to mobile sensors.
