[Via Satellite 06-09-2014] Comtech Telecommunications reported operating results for the three-month and nine-month periods ending on April 30, 2014. Net sales for the third quarter of Fiscal Year 2014 (FY14) were $88.9 million, compared to $69.9 million for the respective period last year. This increase is mostly attributed to higher sales in communications transmission and Radio Frequency (RF) microwave amplifier product lines, and was offset by a slight decrease in mobile data communications sales.

Net sales for the nine months ending on April 30, 2014 were $257.8 million, in comparison to $235.4 million for the respective period in 2013. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) net income was $17.2 million, or $0.92 per diluted share, in comparison to $12.7 million in net income or $0.69 per diluted share for the same period in 2013.

Based on the year-to-date financial results for Comtech, the company has updated its FY14 guidance. Revenue for Fiscal 2014 is now expected to be from $342 million to $346 million, with GAAP diluted earnings per share now expected to range from $1.25 to $1.30.
