[Via Satellite 10-07-13] Brazilian telecommunications company Embratel has signed an agreement with RigNet, a global provider of remote communications, systems integration and collaborative applications dedicated to the oil and gas industry, to provide data and Internet solutions through Primelink, Business Link Direct and Datasat Plus services. Thus, RigNet will meet demands from the oil and gas sector in Brazil and Latin America supported on Embratel’s infrastructure, which provides high reliability through two teleports, redundant links and specialized staff.

“Embratel stands out as a differentiated provider of solutions for the oil market, since the synergy between the various group companies enables the provision of complete solutions with a single provider, known as One Stop Shop,” says Gustavo Silbert, executive director of Embratel/StarOne, noting that the company provided RigNet with customized solutions and customer service recovery through the Center for Quality and Maintenance of International Networks, which provides specialized bilingual service.

“Embratel provided us with a complete solution meeting our needs. Currently, we rely on the support of the company’s RigNet 5 platforms in Brazil. The market for oil and gas requires high availability of service because we have key points involved in such an operation such as safety of the crew embarked on platforms, in addition to the high numbers involved in its operation and production,” says Mauricio Rubinsztajn, general manager RigNet Brazil.

Embratel’s Primelink service provides dedicated, high-performance circuits for RigNet, avoiding delays and performance variations. This solution offers interconnection of telecommunications infrastructure and support for IT applications that require dedicated and transparent end-to-end circuits. Its main attributes are: quality, reliability and scalability.

Another solution contracted is Business Link Direct, which offers 100 percent guarantee bandwidth for Internet access and upload speed equal to download. Already Datasat Plus offers high reliability and multi-speed transmission to interconnect various network points in Brazil without the need of having RigNet terrestrial infrastructure. This is a customized solution that connects, via satellite, points in places that are difficult to access for the corporate network through exclusive digital communication circuits used for data traffic, voice and video, establishing communication with employees, suppliers and other partners.
