[Via Satellite 10-07-13] Euroconsult, a global consulting firm in the satellite and broadcasting sectors, has appointed Marc Welinski as deputy director of broadcast and broadband. In this new position, Welinski will oversee and further develop Euroconsult’s activities in the fast-converging environment of broadcast and broadband businesses.
Formerly director of marketing and commercial strategy at Eutelsat, Welinski has held high-level executive positions across the broadcast and telecom industries in the Pathé Group, France Telecom, France Television and the Vivendi Group.
“The core of the mission will be to develop new visions of the broadcast and broadband sector, to highlight for our clients new trends emerging from convergence and to support the rethinking of existing positioning and strategies,” Welinski said.
This new appointment brings a new dimension to Euroconsult’s expertise in the broadcast and broadband sectors, which encompasses two dimensions: Geographical and business coverage, with the assessment of markets and business models of several hundred companies in more than 50 countries, ranging from the most advanced to developing digital markets; and comprehensive coverage of the value chain, ranging from technical solutions for content management and transmission to distribution and go-to market strategies.
“As business models are challenged by the growth of new services such as OTT and online offerings, companies need to be reactive to both align their strategies and revise their structures and offerings. Marc will improve our ability to provide an end-to-end service, ranging from piloting idea-generation sessions for executives and boards to strategic planning support, scenario assessments and due diligence in the advent of financial transactions,” said Pacome Révillon, CEO at Euroconsult.
