[Via Satellite 10-01-2013] Brazilian independent network affiliate of TV Globo, Rede Paranaense de Comunicações (RPC TV), has deployed their HD Video Head End system using Ateme’s Kyrion product line. This deployment allows RPC TV to not only distribute its channels over satellite to all of its affiliate stations in the state of Paraná, but also to extend coverage to remote regions left out by its terrestrial coverage.

This is the first deployment of a HD satellite system by RPC TV. Through this technology, it is able to distribute its channel over satellite to its network of terrestrial broadcasting towers. This system also provides the solution for other projects inside the company to increase their coverage.

“Deploying our first HD Video Head End system required a number of considerations and specific configuration. We looked to Ateme, and their local systems integrator STI Telecom, for their engineering expertise and local support,” said José Frederico Rehme, R&D coordinator, RPC TV. “We are proud to say, since we completed the installation, the equipment has run flawlessly, a testament to all parties involved.”
