OTE, a dominant telecommunications provider in Greece, saw second-quarter success with its satellite TV offer, adding a total of 174,964 subscribers to its ranks.
Compared to 2012, the number represents a 129.2 percent increase. In its first quarter, OTE added approximately 149,000 subscribers. OTE believes growth should continue with the addition of Premier League football coverage in the second half.
The satellite success represented the operator’s sole area of growth. OTE’s Conn-x numbers stayed flat for the quarter. OTE’s revenue came in at 1,002.5 million euros in the second quarter, an 8.6 percent decline in 2012. The operator’s net income was down 39.5 percent to total 57.2 million euros.
